I.M.I.Self

ON HIATUS

For personal reasons, the initiative is on hiatus for now.

We'll be back once we have major game updates or new releases!

ABOUT

What is the I.M.I.Self Hope Initiative?

The I.M.I.Self Hope Initiative is our way of using our monetary gains and privilege to give back to those in greater need than us.

The initiative started on the 5th of January 2024, inspired by the ongoing Israeli–Palestinian conflict and the need to do something with the power and privilege we yield.

Every other month, on the Friday of the first week, we plan to give back at least $10 + 20% of our net income to a charity of our choice.

We might also run fundraisers where 100% of profits we get from, for example, game sales and Twitch income will go directly to charity.

We try to announce on our platforms whenever we make a donation, and we always publish a report of what charity we gave to, including the amount, proof of donation, what the charity does, and our reasoning as to why we chose to give to that specific charity or cause.

Any changes to this initiative, such as the percentage we donate, will be announced and made as transparently as possible. We will however commit to keeping that percentage to at least 10% for as long as we are running this initiative.

For the sake of transparency, I.M.I.Self is a sole proprietorship company. As such, all donations will be made by Victor Ahlin personally.

Where or to whom do you plan to give?

For this initiative, we intend to give our profits to charities and organizations that are doing work in areas where the situation is critical, such as in a natural disaster or war. Recent examples include the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the Russo-Ukrainian War, the West Afghanistan Earthquake, and the Hawaii Wildfires.

We give where we believe it to be most critical at that moment. We prioritize supporting causes assisting during natural disasters and deadly conflicts, though we are open to supporting other charities.

We use sources such as Charity Navigator, Guidestar, and CharityWatch to pick out our charities. We look into the charities we give to, and what other people and activists have to say about those charities. We only give to charities we feel confident can deliver on their promises and goals.

We don’t plan to use this initiative to give to non-humanitarian projects and foundations, such as the Godot Development Fund. Support for such projects is done separately from this initiative.
